Please be patient as the pipe sizing tool loads. Simply select your pipe material and system type, then enter the pipe size form the standard sizes. Then, enter the flow rate and the pipe sizer tool will calculate the velocity & pressure loss per meter for you.

Pipe size selection guidance

If you are unsure of pipe size selection, as a general guide you may wish to select pipe sizes by limiting the pressure loss to around 300 Pa per meter. Alternatively you could limit the velocity to 1 m/s for small bore pipes, between 0.75 and 1.15 m/s for 15mm to 50mm pipes and 1.25 m/s to 3 m/s for pipes larger than 50mm. There are no strict rules so your judgement is required and maybe influenced by the type of system.
